HISTORY OF TYTHONTython-concept03_CROP
Tython represents the very foundation of the Force’s discovery and future use. This planet brought about the very first Force users, and as such defined the light and dark sides of the Force that would have an incredible impact on the galaxy for millennia to come.

The Force’s discovery originated on Tython in 36,453 BBY when a large number of philosophers, priests, scientists and warriors convened from all over the galaxy. This new discovery was dubbed “Ashla”, now known as the “light” side of the force.

However it was only inevitable before this newfound power was put to a more sinister use, and by 22,140 BTC some of the scholars of the Force had begun using its mystical properties for the sake of gaining power. These new Force users were known as the followers of Bogan, or the “dark” side. Soon light and dark waged war with one another as the followers of Ashla resisted the call of the dark side and retaliated.

The followers of Bogan were defeated in a war that raged for nearly a decade. Tython was subsequently destroyed in the process – the chaotic nature of the force utterly ruining the planet. As a result, the surviving Force users left the ruined world of Tython and traveled to Ossus in 22,130 BTC to establish the new Jedi Order.

Tython remained a forgotten world until the early days of the Great War, where the Jedi rediscovered the history of the planet - history that stretched back 30 millennia to the earliest Force users. Today, Tython is the new bastion of the Jedi Order after their self-exile from Coruscant where they hope to rebuild the Order and seek guidance from the Force.

SPECULATION AND OTHER SOURCES

There is much speculation and other general information on Tython around the web. Nobody is dedicated to showing only the hard facts - yet some speculation stands head and shoulders above the rest and deserved to be mentioned.
