Originally a colony of the Old Sith Empire, it was abandoned after their fall from power. The planet would remain untouched until the Great Hyperspace War ended, causing the remaining Sith to flee into random directions in hopes of evading the Republic. It was here that they found Dromund Kaas, and promptly re-established a presence on the great Sith planet.
The fleeing Sith built the mighty capital of Kaas City in the century that followed their arrival, housing a mighty citadel that acted as the seat of power for the Sith Emperor himself and his Dark Council.
The Emperor worked endlessly to build an army to combat the mighty Republic forces, and also worked to hone his power with the dark side. The sheer power being unleashed by his dark rites wrought havoc on the atmosphere, creating a powerful electric storm that surges across the planet’s surface.
A thousand years after the Great Hyperspace War, the Dark Lord emerged from the isolated world of Dromund Kaas to wage war against the weakened Republic. Quick and merciless, the Sith broke the back of the Republic forces and crushed them into submission. Though halted and officially at a peace accord, the Empire continues to grow from their seat of power.
Dromund Kaas presently remains the strongest bastion of Sith power, and as a result is perversely tainted by the dark side of the force.
