Yüzyılar süren büyük hiperuzay savaşı sırasında, volkanik faaliyetleri dışında dikkat cekmeyen Belvaris, sonradan yıldız haritalarına eklenmiş ve zamanla dış uzay çemberinde unutulan bir gezegen idi.
50 yıl önce, cumhuriyet bilimadamalarının arastırmaları sırasında bulunan Rakatan İmparatrluguna ait hapishane, güç alanları ve ultra set metaller arkasında galaksideki en vahşi türleri ve neredeyse durdurulamayan droidleri guvenlik altına aldı.
Zaman içerisinde cumhuriyetçiler bu hapishaneyi baştan kurup tehlikeli mahkumları, karşıt görüşleri burda hapsetmeye karar verdi ve burayı onardı. Fakat büyük savaş sırasında , hapishanenin Mandalorianlardan oluşan nüfusu ve hapsedilen Sith lordları ile ünü gittikce arttı. Bunun sonucunda Sith ajanları bu efsanevi hapishaneyi bulmak ve Sith mahkumları serbest bırakmak için çalısmalara başladı.
Kısa zaman içerisinde imparatorluk, burdaki hapisaneyi kaosun ve savaşın belirgin bir bolgesi haline getirdi.

HISTORY OF BELSAVIS
Belsavis was once thought to be just another strange world within the Outer Rim. About 50 years ago, scientists who were on a geological expedition to study the strange tropical regions of the planet, discovered a prison system located on the remote world. After realizing that the prison, which was already containing the worst of the worst criminals in the galaxy, would only remain effective for a short time without proper renovations, the Republic committed to establish a new prison system on the planet. Once the Great War was in full swing, the Belsavis prison, codenamed "The Tomb", was used to jail Mandalorian warriors, Sith Lords and other enemies of the Republic. The Secret Prison would not remain a mystery for long however...
The Sith Empire is now aware of the existence of the prison on Belsavis and has committed to free Sith Lords and allies jailed in "The Tomb." The Republic on the other hand has resolved to keep the prisoners contained and is sending elite troops to see that the prisoners remain in captivity. The current situation on the planet and especially that within "The Tomb" is absolute chaos. A free for all battle is perpetually raging within the complex of the prison and the surrounding areas.
